A Foundation of Over 50 Years of Mental Health Care
The Mel Bornstein Clinic for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (MBC) rests on a foundation of over 50 years of serving the mental health needs of southeastern Michigan. Established by the generosity of Mel and Audrey Bornstein, it is a non-profit clinic that is allied as a sister organization to the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute (MPI). We accept most insurances and will work with the uninsured on a sliding fee basis. Our therapists are compassionate, caring individuals, all well trained and offered guidance and supervision by highly trained and experienced psychoanalysts affiliated with MPI.
Our therapists offer help for a range of problems – relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, self-defeating behaviors, child and adolescent problems, parenting challenges, trauma, grief and loss, and life adjustments. Each person who is referred to our clinic is interviewed by a prospective therapist confidentially, with special attention to individual needs and life experiences. We view a plan of treatment to formed in partnership between patient and therapist. If questions about medication arise, potential patients will be able to meet with our Medical Director for further discussion.
